Marketing is a societal process which discerns consumers’ wants, focusing on a product or service to fulfil those wants, attempting to move the consumers toward the products or services offered. Marketing is fundamental to any businesses growth. The marketing teams (marketers) are tasked to create consumer awareness of the products or services through marketing techniques. Unless it pays due attention to its products and services and consumers’ demographics and desires, a business will not usually prosper over time.

Marketing tends to be seen as a creative industry, which includes advertising, distribution and selling. It is also concerned with anticipating the customers’ future needs and wants, which are often discovered through market research.

Essentially, marketing is the process of creating or directing an organization to be successful in selling a product or service that people not only desire, but are willing to buy.

Therefore good marketing must be able to create a “proposition” or set of benefits for the end customer that delivers value through products or services.

Business Communication encompasses a variety of topics, including Marketing, Branding, Customer relations, Consumer behaviour, Advertising, Public relations, Corporate communication, Community engagement, Research & Measurement, Reputation management, Interpersonal communication, Employee engagement, Online communication, and Event management. It is closely related to the fields of professional communication and technical communication.

Business is conducted through various channels of communication, including the Internet, Print (Publications), Radio, Television, Ambient, Outdoor, and Word of mouth.

There are several methods of business communication, including:

  • Web-based communication – for better and improved communication, anytime anywhere …
  • e-mails, which provide an instantaneous medium of written communication worldwide;
  • Reports – important in documenting the activities of any department;
  • Presentations – very popular method of communication in all types of organizations, usually involving audiovisual material, like copies of reports, or material prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Flash;
  • telephoned meetings, which allow for long distance speech;
  • forum boards, which allow people to instantly post information at a centralized location; and
  • face to face meetings, which are personal and should be succeeded by a written followup.

It means that both marketing nor business communication has the same function is to make people aware or to communicate the product or service to people or customer. because marketing is a part of business communication itself.
